Shuffle by BenjaminDale

The imageabove is called "Shuffle." It's a pretty recent piece of work. I shotthis at the Ponchatula Strawberry Festival in 2009. I went with a friend on a Sundayafternoon, hoping to catch some good opportunities to document "The HumanCondition." Sadly, although I managed to count over fifty men wearing sleevelessshirts, I couldn't find much worthy of shooting. This is one of the few thingsI saw.

It is a marionette, and if you look closely enough, you can see the strings attached to him, slightly distorting his face. My friend, Ashleigh, is holding him, and it lookslike he's doing a shuffle. That's why I call it "Shuffle." I justfind him incredibly adorable, so I shot a few pics, and this is the one that Ithought was worth something.

Hi all. I hopeyou're doing wonderfully. I want to start off by welcoming you to my website, and I want to encourage you to take a look around. There is a ton of artwork tosee, and most of it is for sale. Let me know what you think, and if you'reinterested in purchasing anything, let me know. Most of the sizes are listed, but I can easily print it for you in different sizes, so just drop me an emailthrough the Contact page.

Secondly, I think Ishould explain why I've decided to start a blog on this website; we all know,my life isn't that interesting. So why talk about it?

I've had a lot ofquestions lately, asking "What's the story behind this one?" So, I'vedecided to tell you. The purpose of my blog is just to let you know the storiesbehind each piece. Certain pieces were created to make specific statements;others were just happenstance. The following entries will be dedicated(hopefully) to sharing these occurrences--to the best of my ability. I hopethat this is a useful thing for you. Feel free to comment the blog/photo too. This is also a place for you to offer up feedback.

Till then--create!
